The Disposable Thorax Sling with Seat Support is designed to assist with supported sit-to-stand transfers and standing practice while providing additional support beneath the seat. It is intended for use with compatible MiniLift sit-to-stand lifts and can also facilitate access during toileting.
Unlike a conventional full-body lifting sling, the Thorax Sling works with the sit-to-stand lift to support the user as they rise from a seated position. Its shape is designed so that the lifting force finishes around the lower back, helping reduce the tendency for the sling to ride upwards beneath the arms. Alternative lift loops also allow the lifting position to be adjusted to achieve a more upright posture for users of different heights.
This version incorporates additional seat support alongside the support around the torso. The extra section provides greater support during rising and standing, making it a useful alternative to the standard Thorax Sling where support behind the back alone is not sufficient.
Made from sturdy non-woven material, these slings are intended for short-term, single-user applications where laundering and reuse are undesirable. Once a sling becomes soiled or is no longer required by the individual, it can be discarded rather than transferred between users. This makes the disposable version particularly practical where infection control is a priority.
Four sizes are available from Small to XL, accommodating recommended user weights from 30kg to 150kg. The disposable version has a maximum safe working load of 200kg (31.5 st) and is supplied as a pack of five.
