The Aviva RX10 Power Wheelchair is a highly configurable powered mobility chair designed for users who need a compact footprint without sacrificing seating support or everyday driving performance. As the shortest and narrowest model in the Aviva RX range, it is particularly well suited to manoeuvring through homes, corridors and other restricted spaces, while still providing the capability required for outdoor journeys.

Its rear-wheel drive platform measures just 53.9cm (21.2") wide, helping the RX10 negotiate doorways, corners and confined indoor areas. Large 14" solid drive wheels are combined with rear-wheel suspension and solid front castors to provide a controlled, comfortable ride across different surfaces. Depending on the chosen configuration, the wheelchair is available with a maximum speed of either 6km/h (3.7mph) or 10km/h (6.2mph), with a quoted driving range of up to 29.2km (18.1 miles) for the 6km/h version.

A major part of the RX10 is its Action-style seating system, which offers extensive adjustment to accommodate individual positioning requirements. Seat width can be configured from 43-48cm (16.9-18.9"), with further adjustment available through the armrests and legrests, while seat depth adjusts from 41-51cm (16.1-20.1") in 2.5cm increments. The armrests can also be adjusted for height, depth and width, and the standard 80° legrest hangers are length adjustable with flip-up footplates.

Several seating configurations are available according to the level of positioning support required. Options include Drive Only with manual recline, Powered Tilt with manual recline, and Powered Tilt with Powered Recline. Manual seat tilt provides adjustment from 0-16°, while powered versions extend this to 0-20°. Powered seating configurations also include a neckrest.

Driving is controlled using Invacare's LiNX technology, providing precise and intuitive operation. Depending on the chosen specification, the RX10 is supplied with either a LiNX DLX-REM060 or DLX-REM210 remote on a swing-away mounting bracket. The bracket is supplied for right-hand use but can be reconfigured for left-hand operation where required.

Power comes from 51Ah GEL batteries, while a 75A power module supports the chair's driving performance. The RX10 can negotiate obstacles up to 5cm (2") high and has a stated maximum safe slope of 6°. It has also been crash tested to ISO 7176 requirements, an important consideration where the wheelchair may need to form part of a wider transport and mobility arrangement.

With a maximum user weight of 136kg (21.4 st), the Aviva RX10 is a substantial specialist power wheelchair rather than a basic mobility chair. Its combination of compact dimensions, configurable seating, suspension and powered positioning options allows the specification to be tailored much more closely to the individual user's mobility and postural requirements.
