Product Details

The Scooterpac Atom Transit Wheelchair is designed to be exceptionally lightweight, practical and easy to handle, making it an excellent choice for travel and everyday use. At only 7.5kg, it is the lightest crash-tested transit wheelchair currently available in the UK, offering a combination of strength and portability rarely found in this category.

Made from high-strength aluminium, the frame provides reliable rigidity without adding unnecessary weight. This makes lifting the chair into a car boot, carrying it upstairs or manoeuvring it in tight spaces far easier for carers and attendants. The compact folding system allows the Atom Transit to fold flat in seconds: simply drop the backrest and lift the seat to create a slim, easy-to-store shape.

Comfort has also been carefully considered. The seat and backrest use breathable, supportive materials to help distribute pressure evenly during longer periods of sitting. Swing-away, quick-release footrests support easier transfers and allow the user to position themselves comfortably. Solid front wheels provide smooth movement over a variety of indoor and outdoor surfaces.

Safety is a key feature of the Atom Transit. The attendant handles include push-to-lock brakes for full control on slopes or uneven ground, and the chair is fully crash-tested to ISO 7176-19:2022, making it suitable for use in appropriately adapted vehicles.

Available in three seat widths – 16", 18" and 20" – the Atom Transit provides a comfortable fit for a wide range of users while remaining lightweight, modern and highly practical.
