The MP5 Seizure Monitor For Children is specially designed for younger and lighter users, offering greater sensitivity than the standard MP5 monitor. A highly sensitive bed sensor is placed beneath the mattress, where it monitors movement associated with tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures. If seizure activity is detected, the system immediately sends an alert to the supplied wireless pagers, allowing carers or family members to respond promptly while supporting safer independent sleeping.

In addition to movement detection, the sensor incorporates a built-in microphone that can recognise the groans or vocal sounds that often precede a seizure, providing an additional level of monitoring. The system uses patented British technology with computerised movement analysis for dependable performance and is suitable for use with most bed types. Tamper-proof controls help prevent accidental changes to the settings, making it well suited to home, hospital and care environments.

Two pagers are included, each offering audible, vibrating and flashing light alerts, with an operating range of up to 100 metres. The monitor is mains powered and includes a 2-metre connector lead between the monitor and sensor. Please note that the system is designed to detect tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures and does not detect partial seizures or seizures without significant movement.
