The MP5V Digital Nocturnal Epileptic Convulsion Monitor with Nurse Call Connection is a safety aid for night time use.
It will alert a nurse, carer or family member of seizures.
A movement sensor with micro-processor is inserted under the mattress to detect unusual movement, and it will alert a remote pager if this is the case.
It also features a microphone that identifies the groaning that can often preclude a seizure.
This can also be used to 'listen in' to the patient to check that everything is normal.
The pager has a range of 100 metres (328 feet), meaning it is suitable for both clinical and domestic use.
A standard mono jack plug allows for the connection to a nurse call device, and two pagers are included.
Each pager has vibration, flashing light and tone alerts to ensure that the wearer is notified.
The MP5V Digital Nocturnal Epileptic Convulsion Monitor with Nurse Call Connection is suitable for use with people of all ages and weights.
Only grand mal seizures can be detected; partial or non-movement seizures are not protected against.
