The Men’s Darco MedSurg Shoe is designed to protect and support the foot following surgery, injury, or when bulky dressings or bandages need to be worn. Suitable for use on either the left or right foot, the shoe provides a practical solution that allows the user to remain mobile while protecting sensitive areas of the foot.
An adjustable fastening system allows the shoe to open widely, making it easier to fit over large dressings or swollen feet. The strapless forefoot design helps minimise pressure across the front of the foot while still securing the shoe comfortably in place. It can accommodate dressings with a circumference of up to 43cm (16.9").
The shoe features a comfortable doubly padded insole that can be trimmed to suit the user for a more personalised fit. The standard insole can also be removed to allow use with the Darco Peg Assist Insole (sold separately), which enables targeted off-loading of wounds by reducing pressure in specific areas of the foot.
A square-front toe section helps protect the toes from knocks, while the integrated MetaShank protection plate offers improved stability and support beneath the metatarsal heads. The rocker sole helps encourage a smoother walking motion and reduces pressure on both the forefoot and heel during recovery.
