The Women’s Darco MedSurg Shoe is designed to help protect and support the foot following surgery, injury or when bulky dressings need to be worn. Suitable for use on either the left or right foot, it offers a practical solution that allows users to remain mobile while safeguarding sensitive areas of the foot.
The shoe features a strapless adjustable fastening system that opens widely, making it easier to fit over swollen feet, bandages or post-operative dressings with a circumference of up to 43cm (16.9"). This design also helps minimise pressure across the front of the foot while keeping the shoe secure and comfortable.
A doubly padded insole provides enhanced cushioning and can be trimmed to suit the user for a more customised fit. The standard insole can also be removed to allow use with the Darco Peg Assist Insole (sold separately), which enables targeted off-loading of wounds by relieving pressure in specific areas of the foot.
The square-front toe box offers additional protection against accidental knocks while also providing extra room for dressings. A built-in MetaShank protection plate adds stability and support beneath the metatarsal heads, while the rocker sole encourages a smoother walking motion and helps reduce pressure on the heel and forefoot during recovery.
