The Strongback Self Propelled Wheelchair combines innovative ergonomic seating with the freedom of self-propulsion, helping users maintain a more comfortable and supportive sitting position throughout the day. Unlike conventional wheelchairs that can encourage slouching and poor posture, the Strongback features a uniquely curved backrest and angled seat designed to support the natural shape of the body.
The ergonomic seating system encourages the shoulders to sit further back and the chest to remain more open, helping users maintain a more upright posture while reducing the tendency to slide forwards in the chair. This supportive design can enhance comfort during prolonged periods of sitting and help promote better positioning.
Manufactured from lightweight aluminium, the wheelchair is strong, durable and easy to transport. Quick-release rear wheels and a folding backrest make storage and transportation simpler, while puncture-proof tyres provide dependable performance with minimal maintenance. Attendant-operated brakes and ergonomically positioned push handles ensure carers can assist safely and comfortably when required.
Available in three seat widths and with a choice of fixed or folding armrests, the Strongback Self Propelled Wheelchair can be selected to suit individual comfort, support and transfer requirements. It is also compatible with all TGA Powerpacks for optional powered assistance.
