The Oxford Switch is a very cleverly designed and incredibly cost effective patient turner designed to help a person with reduced mobility, stand from a seated position and enable their transfer from one point to another. When used as a rehabilitation aid, the Switch actively encourages the user to participate in the standing process, engaging core muscle groups while improving strength and function.
The Oxford Switch, part of the Joerns Professional range of products, is extremely easy to manouvre and has four corner mounted swivel castors alongside two independently braked wheels, to give maximum stability and control for user and carer alike, and making it ideal for use in confined areas. It can be easily rolled and stored in small spaces as it easily splits into two halves for storage and transit, adding to its convenience. The Switch is simple and swiftly deployable thanks to its straightforward design and lack of electrical components. It also gains from simple and straightforward methods for servicing and maintaining it.
A range of optional Patient Handling Belts are also available for this product to provide additional standing support for the patient and offers grab handles and an adjustable looped strap that offer the carer a means of providing further assistance during standing.
