The Blue Ashby Bath Step was created to assist those with Dementia related visual recognition issues and can also prove to be very beneficial for people with visual impairment, as a white step against a white bath can be difficult to see.

Blue and Red are the colours associated with alerts and attracting attention, and by using these highly visible, high contrast colours, it can enable the user to recognise and understand their environment better – boosting their confidence and independence.

Combining the safety of a large bath step, with high visibility, makes bathing easier and safer by reducing the danger of falling or slipping, when climbing into the bath or shower.

The bath step has two heights, depending on which way it is used. One side gives a 4 inch (10cm) step, the other side gives a higher 6 inch (15cm) step. Choose the height which is closest to the base of the bath, to prevent over-reaching.

The Ashby Bath Step provides a large standing area for both feet, so the user can be steady before stepping over the side of the bath.

The textured surface of the step helps to reduce the risk of slipping, whilst the carrying handle in the middle makes it easy to move and reposition. Once located the four non slip feet mean that it stays securely in place.
