The Glideabout Commode provides a practical and affordable toileting solution for people who need additional support with their daily routine. Combining the convenience of a mobile commode with comfortable seating, it can also be used as an occasional indoor porterage chair, allowing carers to assist with moving someone between rooms when required.

A sturdy tubular steel frame with a hard-wearing silver finish provides a strong foundation for regular use. Four braked castors make the chair easy to manoeuvre around the home or care environment, while allowing it to be secured in position during transfers and toileting. The castors also feature a recess-free design that helps prevent water from collecting, making them easier to keep clean.

Comfort has been considered throughout the chair, with a padded seat cushion covered in heat-sealed vinyl and a supportive vinyl backrest. The backrest can be removed without tools, while the soft polyurethane armrests provide comfortable support when seated. Both armrests fold down to allow easier lateral transfers, which can be particularly useful for wheelchair users or those requiring assistance from a carer.

The height-adjustable footrests provide support for the legs and can be swung out of the way or removed when necessary. This gives carers greater flexibility when positioning the chair and helps keep the footrests clear during transfers.

For toileting, the Glideabout features a durable moulded plastic seat that can be removed for straightforward cleaning. A 5-litre commode bucket with a lid is accessed from the rear of the chair, making emptying and maintenance more convenient. The wipe-clean surfaces throughout also help maintain hygiene during everyday use.
