The Amputee Sling is designed for common patient lifting and seated transfer situations, including transfers between a bed and wheelchair. Its specialist shape makes it particularly suitable for users with high leg amputations or double amputations, where a conventional divided-leg lifting sling may not provide the most appropriate support.

A smaller opening around the seat helps provide a more secure lifting position for amputee users, while the sling supports the body from the tailbone up to the shoulders and underneath the legs. This shoulder-high design provides more extensive upper-body support than a low back sling and helps maintain an upright seated posture throughout the transfer.

Divided leg supports make the sling easier for a carer to position and remove while retaining the supportive shape required for amputee transfers. Once the transfer is complete, the sling does not need to remain underneath the user. A practical pocket along the lower edge also gives carers additional assistance when positioning the sling.

This version is made from standard polyester, providing a durable and practical material for routine transfers in home and professional care environments. For bathing, showering or other situations where faster drainage and drying are beneficial, the Amputee Sling is also available separately in a polyester net version.

Six sizes are available from XS to XXL, each with its own recommended user weight range and dimensions. Every size has a safe working load of 300kg (47.2 st), although the recommended weight range should be followed when selecting the appropriate sling size.
