The Aurum+ Bariatric Bed is a high-specification electrically operated care bed developed specifically for larger patients who require a spacious, strong and highly adjustable support surface. Designed for demanding bariatric care, it combines a 440kg (69.3 st) maximum patient weight with a 490kg (77.2 st) safe working load, providing the capacity required for the patient as well as suitable accessories.

A key feature of the Aurum+ is its adjustable mattress platform. The platform can be widened from 90cm to 120cm, providing additional space when required, while the length can be extended from 200cm to 220cm to accommodate taller patients. This flexibility allows the bed to be adapted more closely to the individual without requiring a completely different bed frame.

Electric profiling provides adjustment of the backrest and leg sections, as well as a mattress platform height range of 41.5cm - 83.5cm (16.3" - 32.9"). Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg positioning are also available, helping carers achieve appropriate positions for care, comfort and emergency procedures. An emergency CPR function allows the bed to be returned to an appropriate position quickly when required.

Patented stowable safety rails provide additional security while allowing greater access to the patient when lowered. Removable head and foot boards further improve access for care procedures and make cleaning easier, while a central braking system allows the bed to be secured conveniently from either side.

A carer control incorporates a lock-out function, allowing selected bed movements to be restricted where necessary. An emergency backup battery means essential bed functions can continue to be operated during a mains power failure.

For facilities requiring patient weight monitoring, the Aurum+ is also available with optional integrated weighing scales. The scale-equipped version allows patients to be weighed while remaining in bed, reducing the need for additional transfers and handling.

The epoxy-coated finish supports straightforward cleaning and infection-control procedures, while rubberised bump wheels help protect the bed and its surroundings from knocks during transportation.

Designed for specialist bariatric care in hospitals and other professional healthcare environments, the Aurum+ provides extensive positioning, handling and safety functionality within one robust bed system. It is compliant with the EN 60601-2-52 medical electrical equipment standard.
