The Corus 1000 Community Low Profiling Bed is designed to support safe and comfortable care for individuals in residential or community settings. It features a very low minimum height of just 20cm, helping reduce the risk of injury from bed falls. This makes it especially useful for people who are at risk of rolling out of bed, or for those using a falls mattress.

The bed can also be raised to a suitable height for carers to deliver support safely and comfortably, reducing the need for bending or awkward lifting. The 4-section profiling platform allows the bed to be adjusted at the head, knees, and feet. This helps improve posture, ease breathing, and reduce pressure on certain areas of the body. The auto-regression function means the bed adjusts in a way that reduces strain and discomfort when sitting up.

A bed extension is built in, allowing the platform to be lengthened to suit taller users without needing extra parts. The side rails have a unique locking mechanism and are designed to be secure and easy to use, supporting safety during transfers or sleep.

The open frame design and smooth powder-coated finish make the bed easier to clean and disinfect, helping maintain hygiene. Moulded hand grips on the corners assist with moving the bed and also help protect walls and furniture.

The bed is supplied in four parts, each weighing less than 25kg, making transport and assembly more manageable. All controls are simple to access, and the panels at the head and foot of the bed can be removed by one person for maintenance.

The Corus 1000 has been independently tested to meet IEC 60601-2-52 standards, which apply to beds used in medical and care settings, ensuring safety and performance.
