The Gelcell Pressure Relief Cushion is a premium-grade seating solution specifically engineered for individuals at high risk of developing pressure ulcers. It combines the proven benefits of both air and gel technologies, offering an exceptional balance of pressure relief, comfort, and durability.
At the core of the Gelcell are 34 interconnected air-filled cells, which allow air to circulate freely across the entire cushion surface. This dynamic movement ensures even weight distribution, minimising pressure points—particularly around bony prominences—and helping to preserve healthy capillary function.
Each air cell is overlaid with TruGel, a silicone-based, pressure-relieving gel that adds an extra layer of protection and comfort. This combination reduces shear forces and improves microcirculation, making the cushion ideal for long-term use in wheelchairs or other seated positions.
Constructed from three layers of high-quality polyurethane (PU) film, the Gelcell is designed to be highly durable and resistant to punctures, yet soft and comfortable for the user. It is also water-resistant, easy to wipe clean, and suitable for users with incontinence needs, meeting hygiene standards for use in clinical or home care environments.
The cushion is lightweight and easy to handle, making it ideal for everyday use and travel. It is also quick to inflate and adjust, ensuring a personalised level of support.
