The Amplicomms PowerTel 196 Large Button Phone is a corded telephone designed to make everyday communication easier for people with hearing loss, reduced vision or limited dexterity. Suitable for connection to a traditional telephone socket or a broadband router or hub, it is fully compatible with the UK digital phone switchover.

Offering premium sound amplification of up to 60dB, the PowerTel 196 delivers clear conversations without distortion. Full duplex technology with echo cancellation allows both parties to speak naturally at the same time, whether using the handset or hands-free speakerphone, while an adjustable equaliser lets you select the sound profile that best suits your hearing. The phone is also hearing aid compatible for improved sound quality.

Large, high-contrast buttons with raised Braille markings make dialling easier for people with visual impairments, while the bright backlit display features large characters and adjustable contrast for improved readability. Two programmable direct memory buttons provide quick access to frequently called contacts, and the built-in phonebook stores up to 200 names and numbers.

An extra-loud ringer of up to 90dB, combined with a bright visual ring indicator, helps ensure incoming calls are not missed. Call Block functionality helps reduce nuisance calls, while Caller ID services (where supported by your telephone provider) allow you to view recent incoming, missed and answered calls. The phone can be used on a desk or wall mounted to suit your home or workplace.
