With a depth of just 5cm, the underlay helps prevent sections of an alternating pressure mattress from becoming trapped within the bed frame, reducing the risk of damage and maintaining effective pressure redistribution. It also provides a protective layer in the unlikely event of mattress deflation, offering additional reassurance for both users and carers. Its low-profile design helps keep the overall mattress height within the recommended 220mm side rail safety regulations.
Supplied with a vapour-permeable polyurethane cover, the underlay promotes hygiene while remaining easy to maintain. The cover can be wiped clean for routine cleaning or removed when a more thorough clean is required.
