The Elite 5000 Pressure Relief Mattress is designed to provide high-level support and protection for individuals who are at risk of developing pressure ulcers. Its construction includes a top layer of viscoelastic foam—also known as memory foam—which is heat-sensitive and moulds to the contours of the body. This helps redistribute pressure across a larger surface area, reducing stress on bony prominences such as the hips, heels, and shoulders.

The transverse-cut foam surface not only enhances pressure redistribution but also improves flexibility, helping the mattress adapt more effectively when used with profiling bed platforms. The grooves also aid airflow, allowing heat and moisture to escape more easily, which helps regulate temperature and reduces the risk of skin maceration.

With a medium-firm feel, the mattress is supportive yet comfortable, helping maintain good posture and offering a stable base during repositioning or transfers. It is suitable for users assessed as being at high or very high risk of pressure damage, depending on clinical judgment.

The Elite 5000 features a fully enclosed 225g PU stretch cover that is waterproof, vapour permeable, anti-microbial, and resistant to bacteria and fungi. The fabric allows the mattress to breathe while protecting the foam core from spills and contaminants. The concealed zip on three sides allows for easy inspection and removal for cleaning. The cover is machine washable up to 90°C, helping to meet infection control protocols in care settings.

For added longevity, the mattress can be turned and rotated regularly. Orientation indicators are included to make this easier for care staff. Despite its advanced features, the Elite 5000 is lightweight and easy to handle, weighing just 9kg.
