At the heart of the mattress is a precision-cut, high-specification castellated foam surface that distributes weight evenly and reduces peak pressure points across the body. The zonal castellations respond independently to movement, helping to maintain healthy circulation and reduce shear and friction, while promoting optimal postural support for long-term bed users.

A robust U-shaped base and integrated block foam side formers provide outstanding edge-to-edge stability, making transfers safer and easier by preventing roll-off and sagging. This stable perimeter also supports caregivers during repositioning or patient care.

The PU multi-stretch cover is water resistant, vapour permeable, and features welded seams for maximum infection control. It’s designed to move with the user’s body, minimising shear forces while allowing airflow for comfort. The cover includes a 270° zip with a protective flap, enabling easy inspection and removal for cleaning. For added safety and clinical assurance, the top cover has a white inner substrate that makes it easy to identify any signs of wear, fluid ingress, or damage.

The Permaflex Plus is Crib 5 fire retardant, X-ray translucent, and washable up to 95°C, ensuring compliance with stringent healthcare and infection control standards. Available in single or double sizes, it offers flexible options to suit a variety of care settings and bed configurations.
