The Alerta Gel-Visco Cushion is a supportive pressure relief cushion designed for users who are at risk of developing pressure ulcers. Suitable for hospital, nursing, and home environments, it provides a combination of comfort, stability, and effective pressure redistribution for people spending extended periods in a seated position.
The cushion is built with a moulded viscoelastic foam base, shaped to support natural posture and reduce the risk of forward sliding. Integrated into the foam is a dual-density polyurethane SensaGel insert, positioned to offer targeted relief to bony areas such as the sacrum and hips. This layered construction allows the cushion to adapt to body contours, helping to distribute weight evenly and protect skin integrity over time.
The contoured shape promotes good posture and reduces shear and friction, while also enhancing overall sitting stability. This makes the cushion particularly useful for individuals with reduced mobility or poor core strength.
The protective PU cover is vapour permeable, waterproof, and fire-resistant to M1 classification, supporting both user comfort and infection control. It is machine washable at high temperatures (up to 90°C), and the cushion surface itself can be cleaned with a damp cloth as needed.
