The Alerta Sapphire 2 Airflow Mattress is suitable for professional and home care environments where advanced pressure management is required for people assessed as being at high risk of developing pressure ulcers. Designed as a full replacement alternating airflow mattress, it combines dynamic air cell technology with a supportive foam base to deliver both effective pressure relief and long term comfort in hospitals, nursing homes and care settings.

This airflow mattress uses 12.7cm deep alternating air cells positioned above a 5cm sealed foam base, creating a total in-use height that supports immersion and stability. The alternating airflow system continuously redistributes pressure across the body, helping to protect vulnerable areas such as the sacrum and heels during prolonged bed rest. The integrated foam base provides additional reassurance by offering support beneath the air cells, particularly during transfers or power interruption.

The Alerta Sapphire 2 incorporates SensaCare Truflo Technology®, using constant auto pressure sensing via an air sensor and microcomputer regulator. This ensures ultra low interface pressure is maintained regardless of changes in position, supporting healthy circulation and more natural sleep patterns. The Ultra Silent™ pump operation keeps background noise to a minimum, making the mattress suitable for overnight use and recovery environments.

Targeted pressure care is further enhanced through a dedicated heel function, with three heel cells fitted with one way valves and removable heel cells to allow offloading where required. Independently removable nylon TPU coated cells make maintenance straightforward, while features such as alternating, static and max firm modes provide flexibility for rest, care tasks and transfers. A CPR release enables rapid deflation in emergencies.

The multi stretch PU cover is water resistant and vapour permeable, helping manage moisture while maintaining a comfortable microclimate. It is antimicrobial, machine washable and fitted with a 360 degree zip for easy removal. Anchoring straps help keep the mattress securely positioned, and a zipped storage bag is included for transport and storage. Practical details such as robust pump connections, cable management and hanging brackets support safe, organised daily use.
