The Apollo 8 Versa Airflow Mattress is a high performance pressure care system designed for users at very high risk of developing pressure ulcers, as well as those with existing tissue damage from grade 1 to 4. Its dual function design allows it to operate as either a dynamic alternating system or a stable static surface, giving both comfort and clinical flexibility during care routines, transfers and repositioning.

The mattress features twenty figure of eight air cells supported by four static head cells, creating a balanced surface that redistributes pressure effectively while keeping the head area stable. The alternating cycle operates over a 12 minute period, helping stimulate blood flow and protect vulnerable tissue. With an adjustable pressure range of 30 to 80mmHg, the mattress can be fine tuned to suit individual user needs, including variations in weight, posture and sensitivity.

A straightforward control unit ensures easy operation with minimal training. Audible and visual alarms alert carers to low pressure or power loss, while a rapid CPR release allows fast deflation in emergency situations. The power unit is compact and lightweight, making it simple to handle and maintain.

To support infection control, the mattress is supplied with a waterproof, vapour permeable PU cover that helps manage heat and moisture. The cover can be removed for cleaning and is washable up to 95°C. Fire retardant properties to BS7175 Crib 5 offer additional long term safety in professional care environments.
