The Apollo 5 Plus Airflow Mattress is a high-performance replacement mattress designed for individuals at very high risk of developing pressure ulcers, including those with existing tissue damage from grade 1 through to grade 4. It is well suited to use in care homes, nursing environments and long-term clinical settings where dependable pressure area management is essential.

This system combines 18 individual alternating air cells positioned over a supportive foam base, delivering effective pressure redistribution while maintaining overall mattress stability. The alternating therapy helps lower interface pressures and promotes gentle capillary stimulation, supporting skin health and reducing the risk of further breakdown. A static mode is included, providing a firm and stable surface for patient handling, repositioning and transfers when required.

The mattress is supplied with a quiet, efficient pump that is straightforward to operate, reducing the need for extensive staff training. Pressure is manually adjusted to suit the user’s body shape and position, ensuring consistent comfort and effective therapy. Integrated humidity management helps reduce skin maceration and supports a healthier microclimate at the skin surface.

For hygiene and infection control, the mattress is supplied with a zipped polyurethane cover that is fluid resistant and helps prevent internal contamination. The cover can be wiped clean or machine washed at high temperatures to support decontamination protocols. A rapid deflation CPR function allows the mattress to be deflated quickly in emergency situations.
