Product Details

The Argyll D8 Airflow Mattress is a high-performance airflow mattress designed for individuals at very high risk of developing pressure ulcers. Suitable for use in long-term care, home care and clinical environments, it delivers reliable pressure redistribution while remaining straightforward to operate for both professional and non-clinical caregivers.

The mattress uses 20 fully alternating air cells working in a 1 in 2 cycle to actively relieve pressure across the body. Each cell is manufactured from durable nylon PU and inflates to a depth of 20 cm, providing stable, consistent support for users weighing up to 180 kg. This dynamic airflow system helps reduce prolonged pressure on vulnerable areas while maintaining comfort over extended periods of use.

A semi-automatic digital control unit allows carers to select between Alternating Pressure, Constant Low Pressure and Max Inflate modes. The system automatically adjusts internal pressure between 10 and 52 mmHg to suit the user’s weight and needs, helping ensure effective therapy without complex manual settings. An audible low-pressure alarm with mute function adds an extra layer of safety.

The mattress is finished with a multi-stretch polyurethane cover that is vapour-permeable and water-resistant, supporting skin integrity and infection control. High-frequency welded seams help prevent fluid ingress, while a CPR pull cord allows rapid deflation in emergency situations. A transport mode enables short-term use without mains power, making repositioning or bed moves safer and easier.
