The Dyna-Form Mercury Advance Bariatric Mattress is a specialist pressure care system developed for heavier users with very high-risk pressure care requirements. Combining modern foam technology with an integrated dynamic system, it provides a substantial 120cm wide support surface and can be used across changing levels of clinical need without having to replace the complete mattress.

A key advantage of the Mercury Advance Bariatric is its 2-in-1 design. It can initially provide the benefits of a high-specification foam mattress before being stepped up to dynamic alternating pressure therapy when clinically required. If the user's requirements subsequently reduce, the system can also be stepped down again. This versatility can be particularly valuable in hospitals, palliative care and home care environments where pressure care needs may change over time.

When operating dynamically, the power unit automatically adjusts pressure according to the individual user's weight. A 10-minute cycle provides alternating pressure redistribution, while the fixed head section maintains consistent support around the head and shoulders. A separate static mode can be selected when a stable mattress surface is required, such as during transfers or cleaning procedures.

The power unit has been kept straightforward for carers to operate and includes LED alerts that indicate low cell pressure or a system failure. In an emergency, an easy-deflate CPR connector valve allows the mattress to be rapidly deflated within approximately 10 seconds.

Infection control has also been carefully considered. The mattress is protected by a high-frequency welded Dartex cover that is multi-stretch and vapour permeable, helping manage shear, friction and moisture while providing a protective surface around the internal components. It is compatible with 1,000ppm diluted or 0.1% hypochlorite solution when used in accordance with local infection control procedures.

All component parts are interchangeable and replaceable, helping extend the service life of this higher-value pressure care system rather than requiring complete mattress replacement when individual components wear or require attention. 

At 198cm long, 120cm wide and 15cm deep, the Dyna-Form Mercury Advance Bariatric Mattress supports users up to 380kg (60 st), with no stated minimum user weight.
