The Drinkup Drinking Aid is a completely hands-free hydration system designed for individuals who are unable to use their hands or who have limited mobility. It is suitable for use in the home, care settings, or hospitals, offering both independence and essential support for maintaining hydration.

The system works by positioning the 1-litre bottle above the user’s mouth, allowing gravity to reduce the effort needed to draw in fluids. This can be particularly beneficial for people experiencing weakness, as the anti-siphon, non-return bite valve helps regulate flow with minimal suction required. Fluid intake can be controlled either by a carer adjusting the height of the bottle or by the user applying pressure with their bite on the mouthpiece.

The Drinkup is compatible with a wide range of fluids, including water, juice, and nutritional thickened fluids. Thin custard or medium syrup consistencies are generally well tolerated, while thicker fluids may require adjustment to the set-up so that gravity assists. For added versatility, the device also includes a ‘Safe-Siphon’ mode, which can be used with thicker drinks.

Each Drinkup is supplied with a Consumables Parts Pack, which contains the key components that may deteriorate with regular use. This includes a drinking tube, bite valve (mouthpiece), and elbow connector. Ideal for spares or replacements, these consumables are essential for ensuring the device remains reliable and hygienic. Additional packs are available separately, and it is recommended to keep at least two packs on hand so one can be in use while the other is being cleaned.
