Designed to deliver high level pressure relief alongside excellent comfort, the Alerta Ruby 2 Airflow Mattress is a full replacement alternating pressure mattress intended for users at very high risk of developing pressure ulcers. Its advanced airflow design makes it well suited to longer term care, where consistent pressure redistribution and stability are essential for protecting vulnerable skin.

The mattress uses a cell on cell airflow structure combined with a supportive static base section, creating a total in-use depth of 20cm. This construction allows the alternating air cells to continuously redistribute pressure while the base layer adds reassurance and stability, particularly during repositioning, transfers or care routines. The result is a surface that supports both pressure management and day to day nursing tasks without compromising comfort.

At the heart of the system is SensaCare Truflo Technology®, which provides constant automatic pressure sensing through an air sensor and microcomputer regulator. This ensures ultra low interface pressure is maintained even as the user moves or changes position, helping support circulation and reduce prolonged pressure loading. The Ultra Silent™ pump operation contributes to a calm environment, making the mattress suitable for overnight use and recovery periods.

Targeted pressure care is supported by an integrated heel function, with three heel cells fitted with one way valves. These heel cells can be removed when required to create effective offloading beneath the heels. Additional comfort features include micro perforated airflow cells to assist ventilation, a pillow function to maintain head support, and independently removable nylon TPU coated cells to simplify maintenance. A remote control allows carers to adjust settings easily, while a CPR release enables rapid deflation in emergency situations.

The multi stretch PU cover is water resistant and vapour permeable, helping to manage moisture while maintaining comfort. It is antimicrobial, machine washable and fitted with a 360 degree zip for straightforward removal. Anchoring straps help keep the mattress securely positioned on the bed frame, and practical features such as transport mode, hanging brackets and mains cable management support safe, organised daily use in busy care environments.
