The Balmoral II Active Mattress with Digital Pump is Harvest Healthcare's most advanced replacement mattress system, providing exceptional pressure redistribution and comfort for users with complex pressure care requirements. Suitable for use in hospitals, nursing homes and community care environments, it is designed to help prevent pressure ulcers while supporting the treatment of existing pressure damage.

The mattress incorporates 27 individual cells, comprising 23 alternating air cells and four static pillow cells that provide enhanced head support and stability. The alternating cells inflate and deflate on a timed cycle to redistribute pressure across vulnerable areas of the body, helping to reduce prolonged tissue loading and improve comfort during extended periods of bed rest.

Unlike many standard alternating systems, the Balmoral II features an integrated foam layer beneath the air cells. This provides additional reassurance and support in the event of a power interruption while also contributing to overall comfort. The mattress is designed to maintain compatibility with UK profiling beds and support bed rail compliance requirements.

All cells are manufactured from durable pure polyurethane and can be individually replaced, simplifying maintenance and extending the lifespan of the mattress. For patient transfers, a transport cap allows the mattress to remain inflated for approximately 24 hours after disconnection from the pump. A CPR release facility enables rapid deflation when required in emergency situations.

Supplied with the Harvest 250 digital pump, the system provides alternating and pressure-relieving therapy to meet individual care needs. The welded four-way stretch polyurethane cover is vapour permeable, water resistant and easy to clean, supporting high standards of hygiene and infection control.
